Osteopathy is a form of manual therapy founded on the principle that the body is a unit that is more than the sum of its parts. A problem in one area of the body is bound to affect another area of the body. Treating one symptom is simply not enough: the osteopath looks at the entire body, monitors its structure and function and recommends those techniques that promote healing from within.
Osteopaths believe that the body is a self-healing, self-regulating mechanism. With that in mind, we focus on the skeleton, muscles, joints, connective tissue, circulation and internal organs as a single unit. Using hands-on (literally!) techniques and skilled evaluation, we can diagnose and treat a number of different issues and ailments in the body.
